DJ back 2 back
DJ back 2 back needs its own sound settings, but we don't want you to lose your current settings, so we save them and put them back when you exit DJ back 2 back.
First we'll save, then we'll set up DJb2b's sound settings once. Each time you switch to them, we save how your computer is set right then, and put it back when you switch off or quit. Your DJ software isn't changed.
Your mix: the app picks your DJ software when it's running (open it, then press Refresh). It sends only that app's sound, never your partner's, so nothing comes back to them. The first time, macOS asks to let DJ back 2 back record system audio: click Allow.
Your partner: the app picks your controller, the output your DJ software uses, and you set the partner level. Your controller plays them together. While you're live, your partner is silent at your end until you hand over.
Headphones: to hear your partner on your controller's headphones (3–4), set your controller to 4 channels in Audio MIDI Setup → Configure Speakers in Control Panel → Sound → your controller → Configure → Quadraphonic.
VirtualDJ: to bring your partner up on a deck instead, tick the VirtualDJ box, pick a virtual audio device (such as Serato Virtual Audio) as the output, and set a deck's line input to it in VirtualDJ. The line input may need a paid VirtualDJ licence.
A mic on your controller isn't sent on controllers that mix it in after your DJ software, such as the DDJ-FLX6, the Numark Mixtrack FX and the Hercules Inpulse T7.
Your settings are saved each time you switch, and put back when you switch off or quit.
